It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cherry Creek Bruins had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 51-24 win over Mountain Vista. Cherry Creek's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Among those leading the charge was Jordan Herron, who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Tyson Mauck also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Mountain Vista's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Conway, who picked up 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Austyn Modrzewski who threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns. Modrzewski hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for three straight games.
Cherry Creek's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Mountain Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Cherry Creek will square off against Ralston Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ralston Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Mountain Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
