Lee Park Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Watkins, who posted six points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Watkins has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last nine times he's played. Justus Stikeleather was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.
Meanwhile, North Hills Christian came into Friday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 78-47 victory over Covenant Classical. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 25 point advantage.
Lee Park Prep better keep an eye on Maverick Ball. He was instrumental in North Hills Christian's win, going 13 of 20 on his way to 34 points and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Ball has scored at least a third of North Hills Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Adarion Hawkins, who went 5 for 7 en route to 13 points.
North Hills Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Lee Park Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for North Hills Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
Things could have been worse for Lee Park Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 81-65 loss to North Hills Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Lee Park Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
