The Perry Maroons will be playing at home against the Chisholm Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only six points in their last contest, Perry made sure to put some points up on the board against Newkirk on Friday. Perry blew past Newkirk 33-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxson Cunningham, who threw for 277 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Andrew Kukuk, who gained 168 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Chisholm entered their tilt with Blackwell with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Chisholm took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 45-15 victory over Blackwell. Given Chisholm's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Blackwell is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Perry to 4-4 and Chisholm to 6-2.
Perry beat Chisholm 35-22 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Perry repeat their success, or does Chisholm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
