The Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors were the 72-55 winner over the Central Christian Saints when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Pensacola Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 50-49 to Central Christian.
Despite the loss, Pensacola Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Quincy Williams, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Stoodt, who scored five points along with five assists and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jarrod Harmon, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Harmon has scored at least a third of Central Christian's points. Isaac Argo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pensacola Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Central Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pensacola Christian Academy will take on Santa Rosa Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Central Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Aletheia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Aletheia Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Tuesday.
