Basketball Game Preview: New Site Royals vs. West Union Eagles

New Site is 3-0 against West Union since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The New Site Royals will look to defend their home court against the West Union Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Site has three straight wins, West Union has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

New Site is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Baldwyn: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that New Site blew Baldwyn out of the water with a 59-23 final score. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Chloe Chism had a dynamite game for New Site, putting up 17 points. What's more, Chism also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Knight, who posted nine points and five steals.

New Site smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Union was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 59-54 to Lake Cormorant.

New Site's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for West Union, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for New Site against West Union in their previous meeting back in November, as the team secured a 53-21 win. In that game, New Site amassed a halftime lead of 34-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
