The Millikan Rams will face off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Millikan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Long Beach Poly's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Millikan earned a 4-1 victory over Arlington.
Maison Crommie looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Millikan is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Xavier Kennard, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Adrian Ramirez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly entered their tilt with Cabrillo on Wednesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Jaguars 12-6. Considering the Jackrabbits have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Will Trunnelle made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tate Hammond and Caleb Safotu did most of the damage at the plate: Hammond went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Safotu went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That triple marked the first that Hammond has hit this season. Fausto Gaxiola III was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Long Beach Poly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Long Beach Poly's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Millikan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Millikan beat Long Beach Poly 6-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Jackrabbits have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
