It was a good run, but the Cinnaminson Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 70-60 to Holy Cross. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Cinnaminson came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Lancers are ranked 210th).
Holy Cross got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmanuel Doku out in front who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Doku hasn't dropped below 15 points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samir Wellington, who scored 21 points.
Cinnaminson's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3. As for Holy Cross, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-12.
Cinnaminson will challenge the Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holy Cross, they will look to defend their home court on Sunday against the Panthers at 11:30 a.m.
