Softball Recap: Kempsville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kempsville came out on top against Landstown on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Chiefs were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Kempsville, bringing their record up to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Landstown, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Kempsville will face off against rival Ocean Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chiefs 2.6, the Dolphins 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Landstown is set to square off against their familiar foe Cox at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
