The Cromwell/Portland Panthers waltzed into Wednesday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Rocky Hill for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-6 victory on the road. With Cromwell/Portland ahead 40-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Cromwell/Portland was led to victory by Osi Yearwood and Jess Elfeich. Yearwood rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, while Elfeich threw for 149 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Elfeich is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
Cromwell/Portland pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points per game. As for Rocky Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Cromwell/Portland will be playing in front of their home fans against Griswold/Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Griswold/Wheeler is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Rocky Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
