The Moline Maroons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Quincy, falling 65-34. While losing is never fun, Moline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Quincy is ranked 27th).
Taylor Fohey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Quincy, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jada Brown, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Moline has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Quincy, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Moline will take on Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Quincy, they will head out on the road to face off against Granite City at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Granite City is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
