Winters is 1-9 against Colusa since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Winters Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Colusa RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Winters earned a 54-47 victory over East Nicolaus. The victory was just what Winters needed coming off of a 64-34 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Colusa came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Durham by a score of 47-40.
Colusa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Kalfsbeek, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Isaiah Travis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Winters has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Colusa, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Winters, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-52 loss to Colusa in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Travis, who scored 18 points along with nine steals and five assists. Now that Winters knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
