Meanwhile, Shelby County took a serious blow against Central of Clay County on Thursday, falling 53-15. While losing is never fun, Shelby County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Central of Clay County is ranked 119th).
Jefferson Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Shelby County, they bumped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Jefferson Christian Academy strolled past Shelby County in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a score of 51-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
