The Aldine Mustangs lost against the Westfield Mustangs back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Aldine was the victim of a rough 66-41 defeat at the hands of Westfield. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Aldine in their matchups with Westfield: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniyah Bevly, who scored 11 points. The match was Bevly's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Porsha Daniels, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Aldine bumped their record down to 2-17 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Westfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aldine will be home for the holidays to greet Spring at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aldine in Texas (Spring is ranked 231st, while Aldine is ranked 1413th). Westfield will be home for the holidays to greet Dekaney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dekaney has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 6.
