The Lightridge Bolts were the 53-49 winner over Independence when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Lightridge fell 51-39 to Independence on Thursday. Lightridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Grant Kunkle, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds for Independence. The game was Kunkle's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was JJ Johnson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Lightridge's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-10. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Lightridge will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Riverside at 7:15 p.m. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
