Brylynn Rickert made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Hailey Jones-Calais was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Angelina Rios was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Spring always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask MacArthur). Everything went their way against Aldine on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-3 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Generals with their most commanding win of the season.
MacArthur got a massive performance out of Trinity Chacon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Chacon also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Amanda Morales, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI.
Spring's record now sits at 6-9. As for MacArthur, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Spring has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Spring got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against MacArthur by a conclusive 17-1 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
