In what's become a running theme this season, the Mingus Marauders gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Lee Williams 58-33. Given Mingus' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Lee Williams is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Mingus to victory were Savannah Tobias and Alice Kinsey. Tobias dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Kinsey dropped a double-double on 23 points and 19 rebounds. Tobias is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Makela Martinez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The victory (which was Mingus' third in a row) raised their record to 14-1. As for Lee Williams, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Mingus will be playing in front of their home fans against Flagstaff at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Flagstaff will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Lee Williams, they will head out on the road to face off against Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Prescott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
