This season hasn't been kind to the Shandon Outlaws, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They were outmatched by Laton at home and fell 54-14. Shandon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.
Laton had a senior duo take command as Cesar Meza scored 13 points along with seven steals and Johnathan Garcia scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Garcia pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaythan Garcia, who scored six points along with five steals.
Shandon's defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Laton, their win bumped their record up to 2-11.
Shandon will head out on the road to square off against Alpaugh at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Alpaugh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 back in December of 2023. As for Laton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Woodlake at 6:30 p.m. Woodlake has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
