Victoria Velez was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Torie Davis, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
The victory was the third in a row for Whiting, bringing their record for this year to 8-11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Gary West Side, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Whiting will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheeler is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
