The Alexander Spartans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 46-8 defeat at the hands of Meigs. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alexander in their matchups with Meigs: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading Meigs to victory were Griffin Cleland and Conlee Burnem. Cleland rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while Burnem rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Burnem's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.
Alexander has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Meigs, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Alexander does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Meigs is also done with their season.
