Newport entered their tilt with Chewelah on Friday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They were the clear victors by a 23-12 margin over the Cougars. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by exactly 11 runs.

Lili Hall was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Newport got a massive performance out of Bella Boyd, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cheyanne Frisk, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Newport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 12 consecutive contests.

Newport's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.1 runs over those games. As for Chewelah, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Coming up, Newport will head out to challenge Freeman at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scotties have averaged an impressive 11.7 runs per game this season. Chewelah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
