Carnegie Vanguard won the last time they faced Sterling and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rhinos put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Rhinos have won five games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Teddy Herce was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to triples, as he's now hit at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Go, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Carnegie Vanguard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sterling only posted an OBP of .125.

The win (which was Carnegie Vanguard's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Carnegie Vanguard beat the Raiders by a score of 15-0 on Friday.
