The Marion County Red Raiders were the 77-55 winner over the Mars Hill Bible Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Marion County was outmatched by the Panthers on the road and fell 66-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marion County has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Marion County lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Joe Aldridge. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Aldridge is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Dalyce Floyd was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Marion County and nudges their season record down to 21-7. As for Mars Hill Bible, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
Marion County will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Brilliant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Red Raiders are ranked 108th). Mars Hill Bible does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
