Basketball Recap: Royal Falls Despite Big Games from Mikey Lang and Braylon Reado

Royal lost against Rudder back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Royal Falcons fell 68-59 to the Rudder Rangers. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1185th, while the Rangers are ranked 524th).

Royal's loss came despite strong showings from Braylon Reado and Mikey Lang. Reado dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds, while Lang posted 15 points and six assists. Reado is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Mathews, who put up six points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Royal was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Royal and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Rudder, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4.

Royal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-60 victory against International Leadership of Texas Katy Westpark on the 12th. As for Rudder, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-46 win against Lake Belton on the 12th.
