Northwest Rankin put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Sumrall Bobcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Fans of the Cougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
The result came thanks to Grace Wallis's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hannah Sullivan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooke Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Northwest Rankin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sumrall struck out ten times.
