Dudley has gone a perfect 4-0 against Western Guilford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Dudley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Dudley earned a 34-23 victory over Ben L. Smith. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 234th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brayden Jeffries was his usual excellent self, rushing for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 106 yards and one TD on only ten passes. He is becoming a predictor of Dudley's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). A healthy portion of Jeffries' aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Vermont Carmack, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dudley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Another reason for the win was Dudley's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Devin Cotton and Zayden Carter, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Another thorn in Ben L. Smith's side was Cotton, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Western Guilford hadn't done well against Southwest Guilford recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hornets blew past the Cowboys 54-20. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won three games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Western Guilford's win came from a few key players Dudley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Clarence (CJ) Blevins, who rushed for 140 yards and three scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Caleb Moore was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries.
Dudley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Western Guilford, their record now sits at 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Dudley against Western Guilford in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as the team secured a 54-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
