Softball Recap: Danville's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Danville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Addison Bulldogs 12-1 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tamara Hutto and Izzy Guest were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Hutto tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Guest tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hutto has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hutto went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Guest got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Hutto has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kirsten Robinson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Addi Hill was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Danville now has a winning record of 19-18. As for Addison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Danville will welcome West Morgan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Addison, they will face off against Meek at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
