The Eastmark Firebirds had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against Poston Butte by a score of 79-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Timothy Gorham was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Rhys Walcott was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.

Eastmark pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Poston Butte, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Eastmark won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
