Melrose may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Lincoln-Sudbury at 7:00 PM. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
Melrose were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were the clear victor by a 40-6 margin over Malden. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Melrose had established a 34-6 advantage.
Meanwhile, Lincoln-Sudbury took care of business in their home opener. They made easy work of Central last Friday and carried off a 35-7 win.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
