Shenandoah and Monroe Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Shenandoah Zeps will head out on the road to take on the Monroe Central Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Shenandoah has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Monroe Central will arrive with 12 straight victories.
Last Saturday, Shenandoah was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Philo.
Meanwhile, Monroe Central earned a 55-48 win over Barnesville on Tuesday. Given Monroe Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Barnesville is ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shenandoah has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Monroe Central, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Shenandoah came up short against Monroe Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 54-49. Can Shenandoah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
