Evangel Christian led Alabama Christian (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Evangel Family Christian Academy. Andrew Thompson threw for 82 yards and one touchdown and ran for nine yards in the win.
The Lightning's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground David Baggett chipped in 42 yards. Grant Webster helped Evangel Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 27 yards.
Josh Letson was the best wideout in the league this week as Evangel Christian topped the Saints. Letson racked up two receptions for 42 yards.
Del Clayton's team's Thompson and Letson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thompson has thrown for 934 yards this season, while Letson, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 12 catches for 352 yards. Wiregrass's Joe Mays leads the league in rushing yards with 355.
The marquee game in Alabama Christian (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Kings and the Lightning. Wiregrass enters the game ranked 12th in the state, while Evangel Christian ranks third.
