Manchester hasn't had much luck against Peru recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Squires are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Manchester came out on top against Fort Wayne Wayne on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Squires' pitchers stepped up to hand the Generals a 10-0 shutout. The Squires not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 15-5).

Landen Bean tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Dallas Martin was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brendyn Mugford, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Peru got the win against Wes-Del on Saturday by a conclusive 16-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Devin Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Evans was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Musser, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Peru: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-4 otherwise. Reis Bellar also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Manchester's record now sits at 9-7. As for Peru, their record is now 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Manchester has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peru struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
