Archbishop McNicholas had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by  a  13-3 margin over the Walton-Verona Bearcats. The Rockets not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 30, 2024.
Archbishop McNicholas got a great performance from  Nathan Kramer as he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore,  Kramer didn't allow a single  walk, the first time  he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Connor Powderly, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
Walton-Verona is  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop McNicholas will venture away from home to  face off against Milford  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Walton-Verona,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as Walton-Verona Bearcats  take on  Gallatin County Wildcats at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. They are facing Gallatin County at the right time seeing as Gallatin County is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
