Amelia Academy is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Temple Christian, falling 21-4.
Amelia Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Lane, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Seahorses as they made off with a 22-4 win. The Kavaliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aubrey Mayton (2026) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Mayton (2026) was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Thomas and Hayden Hudson (2029) did most of the damage at the plate: Thomas got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Hudson (2029) went 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Hudson (2029) is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Emerson Talley (2028) was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Kenston Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Amelia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kenston Forest, their record is now 8-1.
Amelia Academy might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Kenston Forest in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Amelia Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
