Baseball Recap: St. Edmund Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Edmund had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Berchmans Academy Saints get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Fighting Blue Jays have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Clay Aguillard looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, David Evans was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lannie Reed, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

St. Edmund's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Berchmans Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Edmund will head out to square off against Kaplan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Berchmans Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Breaux Bridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Breaux Bridge will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Berchmans Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
