Leipsic is on a three-game streak of home losses, Continental an 11-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Leipsic Vikings will take on the Continental Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Leipsic suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 last Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-36 walloping at the hands of Columbus Grove. While losing is never fun, Leipsic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Columbus Grove is ranked 176th).
Meanwhile, Continental suffered a rough 45-23 loss at the hands of Fort Jennings on Thursday. Continental has struggled against Fort Jennings recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Continental's loss came about despite a quality game from Ashlyn Dudgeon, who scored nine points along with two steals. Olivia Crossgrove was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 rebounds and ten blocks.
Leipsic now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Continental, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
Everything came up roses for Leipsic against Continental when the teams last played back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 54-22 victory. Does Leipsic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Continental turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
