If the Arcanum Trojans were riding high off their 60-22 takedown of the National Trail Blazers last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Arcanum was beaten by Versailles 70-30 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Arcanum has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Alexis Gibbons and Caroline Long certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Gibbons scored 12 points, while Long scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Arcanum has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Versailles, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcanum will take on Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bradford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 747th, while Arcanum is ranked 207th). As for Versailles, they will be playing at home against Indian Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
