Peyton Steinbrenner and Emerson 'Emmy' Hayes did most of the damage at the plate: Steinbrenner got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Hayes got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Steinbrenner has posted since back in March of 2024. Kennedy Hughes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lutheran West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Norton on Thursday, sneaking past 6-4. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Lola Bleakley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Autumn Kennard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
The victory got Lutheran West back to even at 10-10. As for Northwest, their record now sits at 3-11.
