This season hasn't been kind to The East Greenwich Avengers, who are still winless after their eighth game. Their rough 26-0 defeat to Cranston West on Friday might stick with them for a while. East Greenwich was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Alex DeTomasis threw for 78 yards on five of 20 attempts. Ryan Sheeran was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards.
The critical scores for Cranston West came from Adrian Samayoa, Anthony Salas, and Adalino Aceto.
East Greenwich's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.3 points per game. As for Cranston West, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Coincidentally, East Greenwich and Cranston West will both be playing Shea the next time they take the field. East Greenwich will host Shea at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Cranston West will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th.
