Wabasso is 1-9 against New Ulm Cathedral since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wabasso Rabbits will be playing at home against the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Wabasso has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
Wabasso pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to St. Mary's on the road by a decisive 82-68 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wabasso in their matchups with St. Mary's: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, New Ulm Cathedral beat Minnesota Valley Lutheran 66-53 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given New Ulm Cathedral's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Minnesota Valley Lutheran is ranked 72nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Ulm Cathedral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Miller, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Zach Gieseke was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Wabasso's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for New Ulm Cathedral, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5.
