The Sunnyslope Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 45-35 victory over McClintock. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Luke Moga continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Moga's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Aleck Vargas was another key contributor, rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khalil Bender, who picked up 177 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Knutson, who threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns.
Sunnyslope's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for McClintock, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Sunnyslope will be playing at home against Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dobson has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for McClintock, they will head out on the road to face off against Campo Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
