The Victory Baptist Academy Patriots typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Patriots 44-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cornerstone Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Victory Baptist Academy had strong showings from Isaac Johnson, who scored nine points along with 17 rebounds and three blocks, and Vinnie Catuto, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Catuto has scored all season.
The victory got Cornerstone Christian Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Victory Baptist Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will take on Eagle Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Waxahachie Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
