Sunset hasn't had much luck against White recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bison will square off against the Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Sunset gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on South Oak Cliff with a sharp 13-1 win. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Meanwhile, White entered their tilt with Molina on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over the Jaguars. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by ten runs or more this season.
Whitney Foster was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, TJ Alvarado was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Micah Mowles, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
White was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
White pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Sunset, their record is now 3-8.
Sunset suffered a grim 17-6 defeat to White in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
