The Pomeroy Pirates stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They really took it to Tekoa-Rosalia for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-14 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pomeroy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliver Severs, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Trace Roberts was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Tekoa-Rosalia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vanden Allen, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Menga, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tekoa-Rosalia struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Pomeroy and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pomeroy will take on the at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
