Basketball Recap: Ironwood Sets Scoring Season-High Against Liberty

Ironwood scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 62-54 to the Liberty Lions. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Francesca Sofia was her usual excellent self, going 11 for 19 on her way to 29 points, to go along with six rebounds and three steals for Liberty. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sofia has scored at least a third of Liberty's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Johnson, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Liberty, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Ironwood will head out to take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Liberty, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-49 defeat against Sunnyslope on the 9th.
