Last Saturday, Harvest Prep came up short against Upper Arlington and fell 49-37. While losing is never fun, Harvest Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Upper Arlington is ranked 31st).
Harvest Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Adjoa Acheampong, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Maliyah Lofton who scored 16 points along with four steals. Lofton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Harvest Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Columbus Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Ready. Columbus Academy has struggled against Bishop Ready recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Harvest Prep's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Columbus Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Harvest Prep against Columbus Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 49-19 win. Will Harvest Prep repeat their success, or does Columbus Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
