Sidney Parks posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Plainfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Decatur Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Parks has dominated as far as strikeouts are concerned (she's averaged 7.9 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering the Hawks have only allowed three per game this season.
