Mildred has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Palmer Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Mildred, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-39 loss to Rice. While losing is never fun, Mildred can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 751st, while Rice is ranked 235th).
Meanwhile, Palmer's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Blooming Grove on the road by a decisive 46-30 margin.
Mildred's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Palmer, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-17.
Mildred took their victory against Palmer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 55-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mildred since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
