The Blind Brook Trojans will take on the Rye Neck Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Blind Brook sitting on seven straight victories and Rye Neck on three.
Blind Brook proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Hastings 4-3.
Asher Toll tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alejandro Pena, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Pastor, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rye Neck got themselves on the board against Dobbs Ferry on Friday, but Dobbs Ferry never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Davey Ryan made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Rye Neck: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 5-8 otherwise. Ryan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Ben Gellman was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Ian Hoffman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Rye Neck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Rye Neck back to even at 8-8. As for Blind Brook, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Blind Brook has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rye Neck struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
