The Valle Catholic Warriors typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Fredericktown Black Cats proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 48-42 W over the Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fredericktown also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Fredericktown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Penuel out in front who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Francis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fredericktown pushed their record up to 9-11 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Valle Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.
Fredericktown will take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Black Cats are ranked 236th). As for Valle Catholic, they will be playing at home against the Vikings on Saturday. Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
