The Holbrook Roadrunners will square off against the Round Valley Elks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Holbrook is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of San Carlos by a score of 45-43. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Braves are ranked 33rd).

Despite the loss, Holbrook saw an underclassman step up: freshman Channing Harrington went 7 of 16 en route to 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Claw, who posted six points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Round Valley can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game back in December of 2024. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northland Prep Academy 51-15. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Elks had established a 33 point advantage.
Round Valley's win came from a few key players Holbrook will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Addison Poston, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelci Walker, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Round Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive games.
Round Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Holbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Holbrook has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Round Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
